Chapter Eleven
A Song in the Stillness
Long before I stood behind a podium, I danced, played the guitar, and sang.
My voice didn’ t come from vocal training or spotlight dreams. It came from somewhere deeper.
From the sacred places where words were too fragile to carry the weight of my story.
Music became my sanctuary. It was where I prayed without explanation. Where I cried without apology. Where I soared, when life wanted me silent.
To this day, when I sing, I don’ t perform. I just have fun. A healing release. I release hope. I release the unspeakable.
My voice has echoed in conference halls, coronation stages, and intimate rooms where women weep quietly in the presence of something holy.
Every time I sing, it’ s for the girl I was, the woman I continue to become, and the King I serve.
And yes,“ A Tribute to Loretta Lynn” Featuring“ Yours Truly”, is happening.
I love and miss the Coal Miner’ s Daughter.
Such memories of my own Father, does Loretta Lynn stir up. And, how he loved producing events just so I had the opportunity to sing her songs. I miss him too.
