Aliya was born in 1992 near Kazan in Russia.
At the age of seventeen she sought asylum in
Switzerland, where her daughter, Alexandra,
was born a year later. In Russia, she preferred
to paint in a more classical style. She drew her
first political cartoon in a Swiss integration
school. She plans to paint in aquarelles depicting
daily scenes of life in central Switzerland.
