“
The Wall originally formed part of my East Bank – West Bank exhibition
in Amman in spring 2013, showcasing my interpretation of the cultural
similarities and differences on the East and West banks
of the river Jordan. My first visit to the East bank was 25 years ago,
and a few years later I crossed the river Jordan for the first of many
times. Already as a child I was fascinated by the region’s history and
culture, above all its people and societies, and have spent my time
studying and working on issues related to the Middle East region.
I see cultural cooperation as a bridge to enhancing relations between
people in different parts of the world. With my images I attempt to
capture the ‘soul’ and the essence of different places and people,
and to illustrate their rich and beautiful common historical and
cultural heritage.
