Located on the ground floor, the service kitchen and the main dine-in kitchen are rendered with the same wooden wall panelling found throughout the villa, creating a cosy feel that was desired by the client. A spectacular marble island centralises the kitchen, with pendant lights above to create a canopy, and gives a focus to familylife in the kitchen.
Behind the main foyer are the dining room, living room and billiard room, each offering vast and comfortable hosting spaces and connecting to outdoor terraces with south-facing views of the surrounding landscape and mountains. A large built-in cabinet acts as the backbone for the three rooms, transforming its function to suit each room. The living room offers a large, comfortable lounge seating area which showcases custom-made tables from Ina’ s furniture collection. The dining room is anchored by a large Rosie Li ginko lead chandelier which sits above the custom designed marble table with bronze legs.
The private areas on the top floor of the villa include two master bedroom suites and a private closet space which connects them. Each room on the top floor features an intricate ceiling with various angled planed and a dropped ceiling create an origami-like wooden structure.
To enhance the materiality and warmth, Ina Rinderknecht developed a special wood colour with Schotten & Hansen to reflect the colour of travertine used throughout the design. The soft bone colored oak wood blends perfectly with the surrounding, and creates an airy feel on the top floor. The bedrooms were designed to offer a serene place to sleep. Wooden paneling on the
