Since 2021, Louis Vuitton has been redefining the very essence of boldness and the extraordinary through the Les Extraits Collection. Driven by his unmistakably modern vision, the Maison’ s Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, reinterprets the great themes of perfumery into their most profound expressions yet.
Fantasmagory draws inspiration from a world of illusion, beginning with the dreamlike illumination shows of the 18th century – a symbiosis of movement and light. The idea of radiance as both a source and a catalyst for transformation is one treasured by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The result is the collection’ s seventh opus, concentrating all of vanilla’ s sunny glow into a fragrance bottle. Notes of misty anise and gentle floral, leather inflexions are set loose by the use of tahitensis vanilla from Papua New Guinea. Treasured for its radiance, this cultivar unfurls a silky quality that weightlessly caresses the skin. Here, pulp from the whole vanilla pod is cryogenically frozen prior to CO2 extraction, resulting in absolute aromatic purity. The final sensation is akin to smoothing a vanilla pod’ s natural essence directly over bare skin.
