LUXURY HOMES 75
“ We decided that the apartment should be approached as a home for the family when they visited London and we therefore created it to feel cosy and relatively informal ,” explains Rickesh . “ However , since the purpose of the design was to help market the apartment , we deliberately avoided an aesthetic that was too imposing . Our task was to inform and excite visitors about the potential this residence could hold for them .”
Rickesh believes that working successfully from the outset with private clients is as much about listening to the pauses as the words . The client ’ s personality and purpose must be understood before the first mood board is curated .
“ Clients have a range of motivations , from creating a family legacy that will pass down the generations to creating a showcase for their fine collections of art or wine or simply to add value to the property and sell . Our job is to help them achieve their ambition by understanding the space .”
From there , RJP can manage the entire planning process , produce renders , sketches and technical drawings in-house , custom design bespoke pieces , introduce specialist trades , commission artwork and oversee the FF & E procurement .
Away from branded residences , RJP is currently working on a large house in North London located in a conservation area and with listed heritage features gracing its interiors and is also in discussion with a UHNW family , working through options for the redevelopment of their UK home . Summing up RJP ’ s philosophy , Rickesh states : “ It is an honour to be brought into people ’ s lives and entrusted with distilling their culture and personality into a completely individual home .”
The process of walking alongside the client every step of the way is key to RJP and Rickesh gives full credit to his Creative Director , Jana Pflimpflova , who is both a fully qualified architect and a person dedicated to design detail , in helping him achieve this . Before establishing RJP , both Rickesh and Jana worked for many years with leading architecture and design firms designing luxury hotels , members clubs and private offices as well as premium residential projects for developers and owners . They are well seasoned and understand the expectations of their clients , which may explain the number of clients who have returned with their next project . “ It ’ s not just the ultimate accolade but it gives us the chance to develop a communications shorthand . Not that this means two projects for one client are ever the same . Each project must have its own purpose , context and soul .” www . rjp-design . com
