Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay opened its doors on the ( 23rd February ) at The Savoy , London , offering an intimate and elevated experience , seating 26 guests only .
With amazing views over the iconic entrance to The Savoy , the stunningly designed restaurant with its relaxed ambience offers a tasting menu , served for dinner only , which is seasonal modern French with European influences . The dishes are prepared with great flair by Executive Head Chef James Sharp and his team .
Gordon Ramsay says that the luxurious menu is his homage to the culinary titan Georges Auguste Escoffier who joined The Savoy in 1890 ,. “ Nearly every top chef around the world today has been influenced at some time in their career by Escoffier ’ s legacy , however diverse their cuisine , and 1890 by Gordon Ramsay will offer a very fresh and contemporary experience .”
The nine-course launch menu ( including canapes and bread ) features Native Lobster Vol-au-Vent Fine Herbs , with Sauce Americane , the classic Escoffier espellete pepper-spiced lobster bisque .
