With familiar faces as well as first timers in the incredible alpine race , the one month-long race saw 2,300 participants taking part , representing 48 nationalities and 21 Swiss cantons , with the support of 320 volunteers ensuring a smooth race .

The final day of the race was the occasion for internationally renowned elite runners to take on the mountainous trail . In the Men ’ s category , the winner was Spanish runner Kilian Jornet , with a total time of 2 hours , 33 minutes and 15 seconds , marking his 8th victory in the competition . In the Women ’ s category , Swiss runner Maude Mathys repeated her first-place victory from 2019 , finishing the race in 2 hours , 48 minutes , and 48 seconds . While no bonus was offered to the winners this year , they did receive points that can be accumulated towards the final Championship race of the Golden Trail Series , due to take place in the coming weeks .
