THE ENDURING APPEAL OF LIGHT OAK WITH HAVWOODS

As interiors continue to shift towards calmer, more welcoming spaces, designers are increasingly starting from the ground up. Rather than building schemes around bold statement pieces or fleeting trends, today’ s interiors are being shaped by natural foundations that bring longevity, flexibility and a sense of calm.
Wood flooring has become one of the defining elements of this approach, with light oak emerging as a go-to choice for creating bright, light-filled spaces that evolve effortlessly over time. Its understated character provides a versatile backdrop that complements changing palettes, materials and furnishings, making it a lasting investment for both residential and commercial projects.
Responding to this enduring design movement, Havwoods highlights Blanco as its signature light oak finish within the Platinum colour group. Designed to capture the warmth and authenticity of natural timber, Blanco offers a refined, contemporary aesthetic that works across a wide range of interior styles.
Paul Moody, Global Marketing & Insights Director at Havwoods, comments:“ We’ re seeing designers place much greater emphasis on the atmosphere they want to create, with flooring becoming one of the first decisions rather than one of the last. Blanco has become the defining colour within our Platinum collection because it offers that balance of natural character and understated simplicity.”
Available across several of Havwoods’ engineered flooring collections, Blanco offers designers flexibility in both style and specification. Whether selecting classic wide planks, Herringbone, Chevron or Versailles patterns, the finish provides a consistent design language while allowing each project to retain its own identity.

MARMOX MULTIBOARD SPREADS THE LOAD FOR LONDON WALL FIT-OUT
National flooring specialist OSF is using Marmox Multiboard as part of a highspecification installation covering 360m ² of the 13th floor at Moor House on London Wall, London. The Epping-based, familyrun business is installing 1,200 x 1,200mm, 20mmthick limestone tiles in the boardroom. Following removal of the existing carpet tiles, the raised access floor is being overlaid with 12.5mm Marmox Multiboard, providing a robust substrate capable of supporting the unusually large-format tiles. OSF founder and MD Ollie Scarfe says:“ We specialise in delivering high-specification flooring finishes, with a reputation built on quality and service. At Moor House, we are providing the flooring package, including carpet tiles, broadloom, vinyl and limestone. We have only been using Marmox Multiboard for the past 6-12 months, replacing plywood and a decoupling mat. This solution is quicker, equally effective and saves a lot of money.”
A total of 445 Multiboard sheets were supplied by Protiler Tools, installed using Marmox 360 adhesive and galvanised steel washers. Waterproof and lightweight, Multiboard can withstand loads of up to 400kPa.
