BEYOND THE BOUNDARIES:

DESIGNING OUTDOOR SPACE FOR EVERY SEASON

Outdoor space is no longer an afterthought. As the relationship between interiors, architecture and landscape continues to evolve, designers are being asked to create environments that feel complete beyond the building itself. The most successful schemes do not simply add shelter to a terrace. They consider how people move, gather, rest and connect with nature throughout the year.
Amani by Renson responds to this shift by approaching outdoor living as architecture in its own right. Its refined, modular structure enables designers to define space without making it feel enclosed, creating a natural transition between the built environment and the landscape.
Rather than imposing a predetermined layout, Amani offers the flexibility to shape different zones around the way a space will be used. Dining, lounging, cooking and relaxation can each have their own identity while remaining part of a coherent design. This freedom gives architects and designers greater scope to create outdoor environments that feel considered, rather than added at the end of a project.
strength, durability and a precise finish, while a choice of colours, textures and integrated elements enables Amani to respond to the wider design language of a project. Lighting, heating and side infills can be incorporated into the scheme, supporting comfort without introducing visual clutter.
Renson understands that successful outdoor design must respond to more than appearance. Light, shade, airflow, privacy and protection from changing weather all influence how a space feels and how often it is used. Amani allows these elements to be considered together, helping designers create an environment that remains inviting from bright summer afternoons to cooler autumn evenings.
That adaptability also supports the growing demand for spaces with more than one purpose. A peaceful garden retreat might become an entertaining space at night. A poolside lounge may also provide a sheltered place for dining.
By designing around different activities, rather than a single fixed function, outdoor areas can become more valuable to the people using them.
Amani’ s design credentials were recognised with a Red Dot: Best of the Best award in 2023, reflecting its combination of innovation, flexibility and visual restraint. Yet its strongest design statement is perhaps the absence of obvious complexity. The engineering sits quietly within the architecture, leaving the experience of the space to take centre stage.
For designers, the opportunity is to think beyond the traditional pergola. Amani provides the framework for creating an outdoor room that belongs to the architecture, responds to the landscape and adapts to everyday life. It is not simply about extending the season. It is about removing the boundaries that once defined where the interior ended and outdoor living began.
Its aesthetic is deliberately understated. Clean architectural lines, concealed technology and carefully integrated components allow the structure to complement its surroundings. The result is a solution that can sit comfortably alongside contemporary architecture while still bringing warmth and intimacy to an outdoor setting.
