A major focal point is the customdesigned glass chandelier in the entrance hall. Created specifically for the scale of the space, the installation comprises individually made glass globes developed in collaboration with a specialist glassblowing workshop outside London. Callender Howorth worked closely with the makers to refine the colour, texture and visual quality of each element, ensuring that the completed piece had a distinctive identity and responded directly to the wider interior scheme.
Bespoke craftsmanship informed the project throughout. Finishes and materials were sourced internationally, including custom stonework, handmade doors and specially selected ironmongery. These elements were developed as an integrated part of the interior rather than treated as decorative additions, giving the house a consistent level of detail across its principal rooms and private spaces.
The upper floor includes a dedicated cinema designed for a client who regularly entertains.
Callender Howorth collaborated with an audio-visual specialist to create a fully immersive cinematic environment, integrating the technical requirements into a comfortable and refined interior.
Custom cinema chairs automatically adjust in response to the user’ s height and incorporate illuminated cup holders. Upholstered in soft chenille, they bring a residential quality to the room while retaining the functionality and performance of specialist cinema seating. The combination of tailored furniture, integrated technology and acoustic planning creates a private screening room suited to both intimate family use and larger gatherings.
The completed house combines the formality of its neo-Georgian architecture with contemporary furniture, specialist craftsmanship and moments of visual character. Every aspect of the property, from the architectural finishes to the final styling, was considered as part of a unified design, resulting in a highly personalised country home that is elegant, comfortable and designed for entertaining.
