Can you elaborate on the challenges and triumphs of working with such a vibrant and saturated color palette? How do you ensure balance and avoid overwhelming the senses?
Working with saturated colours is exciting, but it’ s not easy. Strong colours can lift a space instantly, but if they’ re not handled carefully, they can also become exhausting. The biggest challenge is getting the balance right— not only visually, but emotionally.
For us, the key is letting colour take the lead while everything around it supports the mood. When a wall or ceiling has a powerful tone, we make sure the shapes, materials and textures in the room are considered.
Curves, natural fabrics, matte finishes and pieces with history help the colour feel intentional rather than loud. Lighting also plays a huge role: saturated hues look completely different in daylight and at night, so each palette was adjusted until it felt good at every hour.
