FLOORING FUTURES AW25 FLOORING TRENDS

As we look ahead to autumn / winter, interiors are shifting towards a richer and more grounded aesthetic.
This season’ s key trends explore a renewed appreciation for depth, warmth and time-honoured designs – think rich hues, classic checks and abstract prints that add warmth and intention to a space. There’ s a move away from the overly polished, with a focus instead on fine craftsmanship and designs that feel lived in and characterful.
FLOORING AS A FIFTH WALL
Neel Bradham, CEO at Parador, the global flooring brand since 1977, states,“ This autumn, there’ s a growing appetite for expressive flooring – we’ re seeing renewed interest in herringbone, chevron, and even mixed-width or multicoloured plank formats. It’ s all about storytelling underfoot, treating your floor as a‘ fifth wall.’
A renewed interest in British craftsmanship and manufacturing There is an increasing focus on British craftsmanship, as we increasingly prioritise home-grown brands that manufacture their products in the UK and from locally sourced materials. Not only is this better for the planet, but it keeps true British craftsmanship alive.
Lizzie Mosley, Creative Director at Hug Rug, the inventors of the original washable rug, comments:“ We’ re definitely seeing a growing demand for British manufacturing. Products made in the UK are synonymous with quality- when you buy locally crafted products, you can be confident that it’ s been

made from premium materials and by skilled British craftsmen who have likely spent many years perfecting their craft. British-made products are also more sustainable. By prioritising products made in Britain, there is less emission from transportation that makes this a far more sustainable option than products purchased from abroad.
At Hug Rug, we have always been proud of our British heritage and of manufacturing our rugs in our factory in Huddersfield. Yorkshire has always been at the heart of the UK’ s textile industry, and it’ s the same factory where Phoenox Textiles has been producing its rugs from since 1954.”
