The living , dining and kitchen room were created by removing internal stone walls and connecting the three rooms which is now 16m long . The ceiling height was increased and was pushed up as high as possible exposing the structural concrete beam with only the perimeter lowered to allow for cabling and recessed lighting . The lighting on the higher part of the ceiling is achieved through high end surface fixed lighting tracks by Deltalight .
The new oak flooring from Parquet flooring is soft in appearance and allows the builtin library wall in the living room and the bespoke dining table to stand out by using a dark stained oak finish . The built-in library allows plenty of room for the owners to put their favourite books , photographs and ornaments on . The focus of the centre of the living room area is a recessed TV with large wall art either side which balances the wall space .
On the other side of the great room is the all-new kitchen that gives access to a compact utility space . The kitchen was manufactured in Italy and plays with Japanese inspired finishes – light oak above the worktop , white stone for worktop and backsplash and an oiled metal finish below the worktop . The large black extractor separates the kitchen from the dining area and offers storage and lighting at the same time . At our clients request we reused their existing dining chairs as they find them very comfortable .
