CARIBBEAN BLINDS PARTNERS WITH LOCAL LANDSCAPER FOR ‘ MOST CREATIVE ’ OUTDOOR LIVING POD ™ INSTALLATION
Last summer , luxury external shading manufacturer Caribbean Blinds completed a unique installation of its award-winning Outdoor Living Pod™ in collaboration with a landscaping firm as part of a complete garden renovation project in Hemel Hempstead .
Stuart Dantzic , Managing Director of Caribbean Blinds , explained : “ In just two days , we installed the Deluxe model of our Outdoor Living Pod™ for a client who required a low-maintenance pergola to seamlessly link their newly built outdoor bar and kitchen area and provide an allweather socialising spot for the adults , whilst allowing a full and unobstructed view of the children ’ s play area .
“ As a Caribbean Blinds first , we incorporated a water feature into a unique ‘ living ’ wall on the boundary side of the pergola . Screening was also added to the adjacent side of the outdoor kitchen and play area to provide protection from the weather , but with a view through so as not to enclose the space . Finally , lighting and heating options were integrated into the structure for year-round use .
“ When confirming the finer details such as hardware colours and finishes and lighting and heating options , each aspect of the space was taken into consideration to ensure that the entire garden would flow . The end result was a dedicated ‘ zone ’ that the client can use to simply relax in or entertain friends and family with no disruption from the elements due to the all-weather pergola that cleverly adapts to the changing ambient conditions .”
The client explained : “ The UK ’ s unpredictable weather was at the forefront of our minds when designing our garden . We wanted a space for the whole family to enjoy during the summer months , but still be able to utilise throughout the colder , wetter and windier months too .
“ After a lot of research , we chose the Outdoor Living Pod™ and decided to add a central leg to split the structure in two , creating a doorway . Whether someone is cooking on the outdoor BBQ or mixing up cocktails behind the bar , the spaces link
together effortlessly , providing a feeling of inclusion for everyone to enjoy . The adults can socialise in their dedicated ‘ grown-up ’ space without worrying about the children in the play area . The Pod is without a doubt the feature of our garden and we couldn ’ t be happier with the results .”
