LIGHTING DESIGN TRENDS 2020
Lighting is one of the most important features in the home, owing
to its dual purpose quality of function and decoration. The year
2020 has seen a smooth transition in lighting trends for the home,
warming the metals and smartening the industrial influence.
The lighting trends that can be followed this year are indeed suitable
for all areas of the house, however they can be more impactful in
particular rooms, and that is what will be explored below:
Kitchen
The kitchen has become evermore important, with individuals
seeking expansive areas that seamlessly transition from kitchen into
dining area when they purchase a property now. The social element
of the kitchen is what makes it the perfect room to showcase focal
point lighting. The focal point trend is based around large, decorative
lighting fixtures, which immediately draw attention, and in this case
would be most impactful above an eating area, such as a dining
table. Additionally, as seen below, large lighting features can be used
in other rooms of the house too, to draw the room together, such as
the living room.
