The inspiration for Hutig
Furniture and Hutig Flooring
has come from our long walks
through the beautiful Scottish
Highlands. The widespread
landscape and the raw beauty
of the hills have resulted in
the creation of a new range
of sustainable furniture and
flooring of exceptional high
quality. For the production we
use mainly fallen trees from local
estates, full of Scottish history.
Ben Hutig, a small hill in the far
north of the Scottish Highlands,
is located just north of ‘The Flow
Country’.
The Flow Country is the largest
single expanse of blanket bog
in the world and the inspiration
for our ‘Flows’ range. The
continuing wood grains simulate
the water flowing over the bog.
The ‘Bothy’ range is inspired by
the widely spread little basic
shelters, usually available for
anyone to use.
