17 To mark the show’s 40th Anniversary, this year’s main entrance installation, Dis- ruptive Dining, will feature four unique and elegant dining scenes which bring to- gether the worlds of fashion, floristry, set and interior design into a colourful dining interpretation. Created by leading designers including Matthew Williamson at Os- borne & Little, Larry Walshe, Beata Heuman with Fromental and EligoStudio. The main exhibition entrance café, curated by three leading Derbyshire brands, will celebrate the excellence and creative heritage of the county. Innovative lighting designers and artisans Blackpop, Curiousa & Curiousa and Royal Crown Derby not only share their Derbyshire base, but a passion for design, British manufacturing and the celebration of colour. Together, this Derbyshire Collective aim to establish an opulent yet outré aesthetic, championing innovative Derbyshire design, in cel- ebration of Decorex’s landmark year. Decorex’s acclaimed feature, Future Heritage, curated by applied arts and design critic, Corinne Julius, showcases works by the names to collect in British con- temporary craft. Makers involved this year include: David Marques, Helen Carnac & David Gates, Lauren Nauman, Matt Davis, Merel Karhof and Marc Trotereau, Naomi Mcintosh, Pia Wusternberg, Richard Lowry, Simon Hasan and Zac East- wood-Bloom. The Champagne Bar, an annual fixture and central meeting place, will be designed by interior architect and designer Shalini Misra. The design, which is inspired by The Great Exhibition of 1851, will take centre stage at the show. Rich velvets will be paired with geometric and figurative motifs, palace ironwork and Victoriana finish- es for a contemporary take on the original design. The heritage colour palette will be complemented with finishing flourishes, such as decorative screen dividers and palm plants. As the event’s showpiece, the bar will be a luxurious location for relax- ing with friends as well as a place for the meeting of creative and innovative minds. The much-anticipated Seminar Programme will offer visitors a series of insightful debates that will explore industry relevant topics. Highlights include a discussion on designing for the millennial with multi-award winning Afroditi Krassa, a session on taking your brand global with Nina Campbell, Sophie Ashby and Natalia Miyar, and panels with leading designers Martin Hubert, Guy Oliver and Sue Timney.
