Coving & Cornice, Ceiling Roses, Skirting Boards, Dado rail, Architrave, Columns and more… AS PURE AS POSSIBLE: THE LAUNCH OF ‘MODERN’ PROFILE RANGE More with less In October 2016 DAVUKA launched their latest collection in collaboration with Orac Decor, the worlds leading manufacturer of innovative architectural mouldings. This new collection interprets modernism in angular and sharp lines, breaking traditions and conventions and focusing more than ever on the symbiosis between architecture and decoration. The new MODERN collection is based on 5 concepts, which have found their expression in 16 highquality 3D ornaments. Clever play of shadows (Indirect/ Uplighting Cornice) The L3 concept, developed by the Italian architect Orio Tonini, consists of 4 modernist profiles designed for the integration of indirect LED lighting. Each profile can be used as a standalone element, for example as an uplighter, or they can be combined to create beautifully composed linear patterns of light and shadow. Chamfered and sober (Cornice mouldings) “Steps”, also designed by Orio Tonini, consists of a series of 4 simply designed profiles, each with an individual character and function, including an original border, a cleancut cornice moulding, and a practical solution for hiding a curtain rail or LED lighting. The chamfered corners at the top and bottom also create a subtle shadow line that manages to accentuate the linear pattern. Angular and interesting (Skirting Boards) The “High Line” profiles are comprised of two skirting boards designed by Pierre Daems. This creative developer sets himself apart by his use of straight lines and correct proportions – the fundamental features of modernism. Versatile and functional (Lit Skirting/Uplighting) The “Diagonal” integrates technology, design and function in one profile. The profile was based on the idea of being able to use the same product as a skirting board and as a light source either at skirting level of ceiling. Geometric volume (3D Wall Panel Art Pieces) Also showcasing are a unique series of 3D Wall Panels inspired by the abstract lines and geometric forms of modernist architecture. This new concept – developed in close collaboration with the Italian architect Orio Tonini and painter-artist Emma Geers – transforms ‘usual’ into ‘unusual’ in combination with texture and colour. The “Rombus” and “Trapezium” can be combined in numerous different ways for imaginative wall art in a totally different dimension. The new Modern brochure is available by contacting Davuka on 020 8660 2854 or emailing orac@davuka.co.uk. And of course all existing architectural profiles are still available on a 2 day lead-time.
