34 DISCOVER HUMAN CENTRIC LIGHTING Natural daylight is a rich mix of colours that change over the course of the day and regulate our body clocks. The static colour of artificial lighting skews our individual internal clock, leaving us blighted by a tired and lacklustre feeling. With LUCTRA®’s human centric LED lighting system, the colour changes found in natural daylight are replicated, harnessing the biological effect of light in order to deliver proven wellbeing and productivity benefits within the workplace. the LEDs, maintaining an operating temperature which never rises above 40°C. Self-locking joints specially developed for LUCTRA® allow adjustment of the lamp to any desired position. Floor and Floor Twin: The LUCTRA® floor lamp models are available in individual or twin versions and in a sleek floor standing form, distributing perfectly even lighting from a maximum height of 1.80 metres. The individually adjustable lamp heads of the floor lamp provide maximum flexibility; in particular the twin lamp heads can be adjusted independently to provide multiple users their own personal lighting sequence. Now for the Science The natural colour of daylight stimulates the production of melatonin, a chemical hormone that makes us feel sleepy, and serotonin, which regulates your mood. In turn, these hormones control our circadian rhythm, a 24-hour, endogenously generated cycle that influences people’s sleeping and eating patterns. The colour and intensity of daylight changes over the course of 24-hours and can have a significant effect on these two hormones. The effective targeted changes of light colour provided by the LUCTRA® family of lamps are able to remedy a deficit in these hormones by stabilising the human biorhythm, ensuring individuals are able to sleep well and feel more rested when carrying out their daily tasks. The biologically effective light of LUCTRA® uses both cold white and warm white LEDS that produce an illuminance of up to 1,000 lux, and an impressive Kelvin level between 2,700K and 6,500K to recreate natural daylight. LUCTRA® will be exhibiting its innovative range at Clerkenwell Design Week (24-26 May 2016) and on stand PR9, Project Exhibition, visitors will see: FLEX: FLEX is a rechargeable, cordles s lamp that provides complete freedom to work anywhere without compromising the quality of light. Available in orange, black, white and aluminium finishes, FLEX can operate as a table lamp or a wall lamp, with its unique angled design able to support itself against a wall or the side of a table.
