38 Italian Manufacturer Novellini is proud to announce that in January 2016 Novellini Group is 50! It is now half a century since founder Mr Gianfranco Novellini started production from a small workshop in Mantova in the January of 1966. 50 years on Gianfranco is survived by his children Marco and Barbara Novellini who are guiding and building upon their father’s legacy Novellini Group, into 21st century. Still based in Mantova, Italy, Novellini is now the World’s largest independent producer and manufacturer of shower enclosures, steam cabins, baths, whirlpools and shower trays with a current workforce of over 900 employees worldwide. In the last decade Novellini has made significant investments into environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and continues to strive towards ever more sustainable holistic production and distribution methods for the future. All phases from raw materials, production of components, assembly, packaging and distribution are carefully considered, in accordance with and sometimes surpassing current EU directives and international standards on quality, safety and sustainability. Aluminium, one of the key materials used by Novellini in the production of shower enclosures is processed currently from up to 60% recycled material and whilst maintaining the highest quality of aluminium product Novellini is striving to increase the proportion of recycled aluminium, in so doing reduce dependency on new raw aluminium further reducing environmental impacts. Novellini introduced the use of PVD chrome as the main finish treatment applied to aluminium profiles used throughout the Novellini collections. The PVD chrome process used is a unique and patented system that is exclusive to Novellini (the same process is used for the Gold & Nickel finishes) and it has several key advantages: • PVD chrome has a very low environmental impact and produces no harmful chemical by-products, • PVD chrome produces a durable bright finish that truly matches to other chromed brassware finishes, • PVD chrome is applied to profiles after any machining so that even profile ends and drillings are protected. • The PVD chrome process allows Novellini to add other base metals to the finish such as Silver and Zeolite – long recognised for their anti-bacterial properties. • PVD chrome gives a smoother surface finish that reduces the need for vigorous cleaning and prevents the build up of lime-scale deposits. So now in 2016, its 50th year, Novellini is able to offer a range of 6 durable frame finishes to complement its already extensive range of shower enclosures and steam cabins.
