Rue d’Aboukir Paris – 120 m2
Contemporary duplex apartment, completely
renovated.
The upper part of the duplex consists of a large living
room bringing together the kitchen, dining room and
living room. It was necessary to connect all three living
spaces in order to create a harmonious and bright
ensemble. The same color was used for the wall and
flooring for this level.
Upon entering the apartment is the kitchen area. The
kitchen furniture was designed as blocks of different
sizes and materials forming an abstract landscape.
The extension of these blocks leads into the dining
room with a custom-made bench and a small library in
smoked black glass.
The living room is built around a long black marble
bench. The selected furniture pieces are deliberately
compact, functioning as satellites making it easy to
reconfigure the layout. A ladder gives access to the
mezzanine which was designed as a colorful interlude
in the apartment.
There is also a guest bedroom and a small spare
bathroom
The lower level of the duplex, just like the upper
level, has only one colour for the wall and flooring
throughout. The colour is a warmer dimmer gray with
a Solunite resin floor in the same tone. The original
exposed beams were treated with a natural varnish to
create a warm atmosphere. A long corridor leads to the
bathroom, dressing room and bedroom of the owners...
