11 The interior strategy aimed to be classic and well fabricated, using traditional construction methods for plasterwork, tiling, joinery and paneling. The main contractors, Cross Construction (www.crossconstruction.co.uk) installed the painted paneling on site, with the built in joinery being made and installed by local firm, Fine Edge Designs (www.fineedgedesigns.co.uk) For the furnishing of the project and the artworks selected, Georgian motifs and style were an inspiration. The pineapple motif is featured several times, harking back to the times of Joseph Paxton and the pineapple as a symbol of hospitality. Botanical pictures adorn walls framed by paneling and architectural details, and contemporary art work from James Cooper is featured in the cinema room and master bedroom. The ground floor ceilings are 3.4m tall, while the first floor is 3m. The bedroom and bathrooms of the second floor are housed in a tall mansard roof, again with generous ceilings. The more formal spaces to the ground floor also feature a grid design ceiling. To match the proportions of the rooms, bespoke raised and fielded doors were commissioned. As well as the doors, all joinery including the kitchen was designed and drawn by Georgina, and installed by the joiners then site painted. Bathrooms were designed with classical fixtures and paneled walls. The master ensuite has an Arebescato, tiled floor with matching herringbone walls in the huge double shower. Lefroy Brooks fttings compete the luxury look. The ground floor houses a study, drawing room, formal dining room, large guest wc, kitchen and family room, larder, utility and cinema/playroom.
