Looking forward, what can you see the future holds for simplehuman? simplehuman will remain focused on our core categories – trash cans, sensor pumps, sensor mirrors – while evolving smarter products that help people to live better. Are there any plans for further growth into new markets? I’m open to exploring new markets. It’s all about moving with the times and not looking back. I want to keep helping people become more efficient. Looking back over the years you have been in business, is there anything you would have done differently? That’s a good question. I think I could have spent more time recruiting the very best people, experts who could have given valuable business insights a little earlier. That might have helped save some time in the long run. What advice would you give an up and coming entrepreneur looking to break through in their respected market place? Only do it you really love your product or service. You’ve got to know that it will really help people and that you want it in your own life. If you just see a gap in the market and think you can create something that’s just ‘good enough’, it might make a bit of money but it won’t give you the same sense of fulfilment. What’s next for Frank Yang? I plan to keep loving what I do – creating bigger and more impactful products.
