in deepening their encounter with Christ and his Church is one of the ways
in which the baptized are sent as apostles or missionary disciples from the
community of faith into the world. As Pope Francis reminds us in Evangelii
Gaudium, “although it sounds obvious, spiritual accompaniment must lead
others ever closer to God, in whom we attain true freedom” (170).
