Dear Members of the Firefighting Community
Welcome to the debut issue of Metalfab’s new
publication, The Apparatus Floor, a quarterly
newsletter that will cover topics of interest
to both Canadian and American firefighters.
For over 50 years, we have consulted with fire
departments about the best ways to modernize their equipment—in
their purchases of everything from pumpers and rescues to tankers and
utility units—while investing wisely on behalf of their communities.
We now have a platform for sharing these insights more broadly
through this publication.
In this issue, we address the strain that COVID-19 has placed on
firefighting departments in safely caring for our communities while
keeping free of infection. We offer a wealth of recommendations for
staying healthy without compromising the standards of care for both
those we support and those we employ. We are honored to be working
day in and day out with first responders on the front lines of the
pandemic.
For as long as we have been in business, we have treasured our role as
educators and advisors to the hundreds of customers and prospects that
count on us to always have their best interests in mind. Please let us
know if there’s anything we can do to help make this publication more
valuable to you in the months ahead. We welcome your feedback and
article suggestions.
Best wishes,
Gordon Green, President, Metalfab LTD
