the exercise in different environments . She understood that familiar games that predict reinforcement help to create a sense of confidence in unpredictable ( new and different ) environments ( L . McDevitt , Control Unleashed , 2007 ).
Jenna is a very organized person and enjoys tracking Oliver ’ s progress . I created a Google Drive folder called Oliver . In it were record keeping sheets and I asked her to keep filling them out for a month . We focused on introducing new people to Oliver in his home and his behavior around new people in the building . We focused on measurable behaviors , such as did he eat the treats given to him during the Guest Protocol and what was the pace of eating those treats .
I meet with Jenna once every 4-6 weeks for maintenance . She wanted to continue working with me and improving her understanding and mechanical skills so that she could better help Oliver . Overall , Oliver is doing well . He no longer shows any fear or avoidance outside . He gets excited when he sees his harness come out . Jenna has had a few friends come over and has used the Guest Protocol to introduce Oliver . He consistently warms up faster with women than men . Jenna is very happy that Oliver is more confident , and his quality of life has improved . She also feels more confident in her skills and ability to read him .
