This year has seen many anxieties flood our lives but I ’ ve also seen extraordinary moments of bravery , hope and fortitude across Atlanta and the world . I ’ m inspired by other people ’ s stories , because they make me believe anything is possible . It ’ s during challenging times , like 2020 , that sharing stories and listening to people who are different from us helps to build bridges and hope . I learnt from Nelson Mandela , who I had the honor of reporting on and knowing during my years as a correspondent in Africa , that our neighbors are our greatest strength in times of struggle . Hope is fragile , but it ’ s resilient - just like the many amazing people who are my neighbors , my friends and my work colleagues . Even though I have lived in Europe , Australia and Africa , I ’ m so grateful to call Atlanta my home during this pandemic . We are all in this together .
