Welcome
Welcome to the first issue of "The Alternative". This was a logical next step for me, mixing my love for everything geek and my passion for photography. It was amazing to see the love and support I got when I announced that I was doing this. And I want to personally thank everyone out there for helping. Even if this doesn't take off, the fact that this is something that I can do and share with my friends is enough for me (Even though I would really love if it took off).
So allow me to answer the first question...what is "The Alternative"? Well that is simple, it is meant to be Maxim for geek males. Modeled after a site that I write for, Guysnation.com, the digital magazine will have all the cool features seen in both Maxim and Guysnation like models, Cosplayers, geek gifts, video games, comics, anime, advice, and so much more. Think of this as a geek man's hand guide on how to continue to be awesome as only a geek man can be.
But don't be fooled any man - or even woman - can read this. If the ladies aren't your thing, maybe you can check out the Cosplayer of the Month. If that isn't your thing, check out our must watch anime of the month. If that doesn't float the boat, we have comic reviews, video game suggestions, even a bit of manly advice to make you the eye candy amongst your female colleague.
So enjoy the product of my love and hard work. And stay tuned...we are just getting started.
