Cruising Report
First Friday in February say four presenters talking on last year ’ s cruising . When I talk of cruising I mean sailing we just happen to end up at great destinations . Judy Readman spoke on the Christmas cruise to Lake Macquarie . Patrick Tansey spoke on the joys on cruising the Whitsundays and Jim and Clem spoke on the Clarence cruise . David Clark concluded with a story on the mariner cruise to Sweden . It shows what a diverse range of cruises we had in 2016 . That does not include the trips to the harbour and weekend cruises in Pittwater . We also joined the Club at the Dicko Cup and had a great sail back in a 15knt southerly . The cruise to Dangar Island was interesting we had to miss the bowling as we sat on the boats and watched the storm cells hit Sydney and Newcastle . During Easter there will be a sail down to the Harbour , it ’ s a nice couple of hours and plenty to do with options of staying the night . Plans are well underway for the Coral Coast 2017 and in preparation for the the event we have held our diesel maintenance seminar and still have the electrical maintenance and navigation basics being held in the near future . Our Facebook page is up and running some great posts from Angus Gordon in Tasmania . It ’ s a great tool to see what ’ s happening outside the Club and it ’ s also good to show those interested in what you ’ re doing / planning as well . March Friday is with Clipper Round the World sailor John Charles .
