Over the last seven years, Saskia has both travelled
the world as well as spent time in the picturesque
town of Swellendam. Whilst there, Saskia ran

a guesthouse with family, connecting her with
admiration for nature and its amazing beauty. For
two of these years Saskia worked with disabled
people in the Netherlands. She also travelled
through Europe and Indonesia only to find her
passion lay in creating spaces for people where
they could just be themselves and calm their minds.
Being more of a free-styler than a trend follower per
se, Saskia feels there is an absolute need in today’s
society for spaces where we can just become silent,
plant a tree or just give something back. “I see
myself organising festivals where people come
together to share. Being at The Aleit Academy
will give me that professional foundation to be
able to speak and live the language of events and
hospitality” says Saskia.
