The eland had stopped in the thick bush after several hundred metres and Henrik took the 200 metre shot which was no problem with the .338. Several moments later I again had a very happy son! Before the end of the hunt Jannie and his team surprised me with a really good birthday song, a boat ride down the Zambezi river and a big chocolate cake - of course we would be back the following year. And so – we did return the following year. This time it would be a buffalo bull for Henrik and a tuskless elephant for me. Henrik had chosen a CZ Magnum .416 Rigby with 400 grain solids and Swift A-Frame bullets and I had my double with me again. We began the safari at the Sengwa Research station which proved excellent for buffalo and plains game. “Never change a winning team”, I say.
