ZIMBOUNDARY Cycle Challenge Against Poaching A small group of three riders have decided to take on the challenge of riding around the borders of Zimbabwe in one continuous ride. It is a little over 3600km and should take approximately seven weeks to complete using jeep tracks and single track paths the entire route and passing through the country’s most beautiful National Parks. This will be the first time this has ever been done and the riders are Mike Grey, Linda Davidson and Ashley King. The idea is to raise awareness and funds for anti poaching efforts in Zimbabwe and they are appealing to the public and in particular the corporate world for sponsorship. All funds raised will be donated directly to the Victoria Falls Anti Poaching Unit (VFAPU) or the Tashinga Initiative - both recognised Trust-run organisations. The ride starts on 6 July 2014 from Aberfoyle in the Honde Valley from where they ride south. Updates and progress reports will be posted as often as possible on their Facebook page so please like/share their page for regular information. The support vehicle will have a satellite tracking device fitted by Car Track for interested people to literally follow the ride - please see Facebook page for details.
