Dear Editor Thought you ( and perhaps your readers ) might be interested in these photos of the gates at Kariba actually opening . It was the most amazing sight . It was very well organised in that they opened dead on time , with a siren going off five minutes prior to the opening to warn the public that only five minutes remained before the opening . It was definitely worth the trip - very spectacular . These photos are of the first gate opening , but the second one was not so spectacular . Regards Nettie
Thanks Nettie . I also went up , but due to car problems , arrived just as the gate opened . The fi rst shot I have is a split second after these you took . It is quite spectacular though and I am sure many will not have seen this sight immediately after the gate is opened . Thank you . - Editor
Dear Editor My name is Julian and l was 17 in April 2012 . l caught a 6kg tiger in Chirundu . l caught it with live bream bait . My hands were peeling . A very cool fishing guide named Alex from Tiger Safaris told me what to do . Regards Julian Coumbis
Dear Editor Please find attached a picture of a vundu which my uncle caught in the Sanyati Gorge on new year ' s day . It was caught on a Cornish jack fillet . I managed to bring the vundu onto the tender boat by wrapping some mutton cloth around my hand , grabbing hold of the vundu ' s bottom jaw and lifting it out of the water . The vundu weighed 24kg on our funny little scale . We all thought it was a bit heavier than that . The fish measured 64 inches in length . We released it successfully . Regards Chris Joughin ( The Malachite )
