Dear Editor Happy New Year ! When my kids heard that their little brother Jonty was in the African Fisherman mag , they asked if they could be too - Thanks . At 5.30pm on 31 December 2012 Kiara Hodgson age nine years old , had just said " Dad I can ' t cast or catch a fish ", and her Dad said " You can do it , my girl . Try one more time ." That ' s when she hooked , fought and landed her own 3kg tigerfish !
Dear Editor My name is Chloe Cawood and l am a 10 year old girl and was fishing up the Ume in Kariba over Christmas when suddenly l was taken by my biggest ever tigerfish . My uncle made me bring it in all by myself , what a challenge - a 5.34kg tigerfish ! Just showing all the boys out there that us girls do catch big fish and don ’ t need help . My Dad even caught a 6.3kg tigerfish later that day . What a lovely holiday in Kariba Chloe Cawood Harare
Dear Editor We have just been to Kariba in January 2013 . I caught this tigerfish and it weighed 11lb . It is the biggest tigerfish the Lashbrook kids have caught . I caught it in the Umi river . I also caught a 7lb tiger fish , a 11lb Cornish jack and 6lb Cornish jack . Sophie also caught a 7 lb . Ben caught a 2lb tiger all by himself . He is two years old . Sophie is five years old .
