This enjoyment is further enhanced when that lure is tied by the angler’s own hand. Fly-tying is a highly satisfying hobby in its own right, and beginners would do well to start with bass flies simply because they are large and easy to handle. With a little practice and some patience, it is possible to make better flies and bugs than those that are mass-produced - not to mention far cheaper. Fishing with a well-made hand-crafted lure in itself is a source of great pleasure. The creator can take immense pride in knowing that the lure he is using is like no other.
