With two decades of experience in mental health and clinical settings , I specialize in clinical supervision , Employee Assistance Program management , and mental health training workshops .
Additionally , I am the owner and clinical director of my private practice and a board member of the South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association .
As Southern Region Director , I will focus on increasing membership engagement , strengthening collabo-ration with state boards , and supporting emerging leaders .

In Memoriam
When I think of the brilliant Lori Russell-Chapin , PhD , a former consulting editor of The Advocate Magazine , what comes to mind first are her formidable intellect ; her commitment to lifelong learning ; her boundless energy ; her ready laugh ; and her enthusiasm — for life , her husband and children , and her work .
A professor at Bradley University and co-director for the Center for Collaborative Brain Research ( CCBR ), she also maintained a private practice with her fellow psychologist husband , Ted Chapin , PhD . Though we never met in person , we worked together for more than eight years , and AMHCA , the magazine , and I all benefited from her contributions and insights . She died in March 13 , 2024 ; read her obituary here . — Kathleen McCarthy
