Hello , and welcome to the final edition of The Adviser for 2021 .
What a year it ’ s been ! Although we ’ re still a few months away from the finish line , I think we ’ d all agree that 2021 has been quite the rollercoaster . We ’ ve been delighted to see so many of you at events and visits over the past few weeks ( although , of course , virtual options are still available for those of you who ’ d prefer to stick with them for a little bit longer ), and I ’ m sure you ’ ve been enjoying seeing clients and colleagues again too . One of the many positive qualities for which the adviser community is renowned is resilience , and that has been evident over the past few years . In fact , our mid-year survey showed that many of you had taken elements which had been forced upon us during the pandemic – virtual engagement , enhanced technology and increased operational efficiencies , for example – and adapted them into your long-term model , to improve the service you provide to clients , and your own work / life balance . It ’ s unsurprising to see that the events of recent years have also encouraged more consumers to think about the importance of having a financial plan in place , in case of unforeseen events . The survey showed us that many of you had experienced a growth in client bank during the pandemic and this , coupled with the ability to use technological advances to build in efficiencies and make your business more scalable , means that the financial advice sector appears to have weathered the storm and remains in a very healthy position . Of course , advisers have always faced challenges , and will continue to do so , but SimplyBiz will always be here to support you as you face them .
