MyLearning is our new learning management system which replaced Competent Adviser in April 2020 . In this article , Michael Pashley , Group Training & Knowledge Manager , explains the reasons for the change and explores the benefits to you , covering the four available tiers of service and providing his recommendation for which tier to go for .
Historically , SimplyBiz provided Members and Clients with complimentary access to an external online learning management system called Competent Adviser . This provided a library of learning materials , multiple-choice tests and somewhere to log CPD all in one convenient place . While the system had its benefits , we wanted to do more for our Members and Clients when it came to their CPD . We were given the assignment of finding a better solution for our Members and Clients . In the style of Ocean ’ s 11 , a crack team of specialists was gathered , including myself as Group Training & Knowledge Manager . We went out to the market and considered various solutions , but quickly came back to Competent Adviser , who had produced a brand-new platform . With so many additional benefits to users , and after extensive analysis , we found this new system to be the most appropriate for our Members and Clients . However , we were not content with stopping there . Not only could we access the new and improved platform , we could also include our own SimplyBiz-produced training and knowledge materials . Thus , MyLearning was born , powered by the engine of Competent Adviser .
