Hello , and welcome to the very first edition of The Adviser .
This magazine is the first of a new year , the first since we announced the launch of our parent company , Fintel , and the first of what feels like a new era for our sector . With this in mind , we have we have taken the opportunity to bring together our three flagship publications – Adviser Today , Adviser First and SIFA News & Views – in order to leverage our knowledge and expertise from across our core compliance service brands and to deliver the highest quality and most relevant content to you . Our world changed greatly last year – suddenly , unexpectedly and , in many cases , tragically . However , as we begin to take stock , I believe that it is important to consider what we learned from the events of 2020 , and value the positives as we move forwards . I am sure that you , like me , will never take time spent in the company of your extended family and friends – and even colleagues – for granted ever again . Additionally , the freedoms we enjoy in our social lives and leisure time will be even more treasured as we emerge from the restrictions which were necessary for so many months . When it comes to our professional lives , this edition of The Adviser features information on some of the efficiencies , technology and new ways of working with clients which have been innovated , or become much more important to our businesses , over recent months . It also delivers insight on some of the most topical industry issues of the moment , from both experts within SimplyBiz and leading experts across the sector . Although it felt a little like the world had come to a standstill at certain points over the past twelve months , regulatory change and client needs continued unabated , and so did our support for you . I look forward to seeing what ’ s next for the adviser community , but I am certain this new era looks bright for the sector , and that your services will prove to be more valuable to more clients than at any point previously .
