estuaries nestle between indigenous forests,
vineyards and crowning hilltop residences.
The climate here is temperate and a wealth
of outdoor activities, from mountain biking
and kayaking to abseiling and diving with
seals, ensures a healthy lifestyle. Mornings
begin with a long walk on different elongated
beaches around the region, to work up an
appetite. The quality of restaurants and
bakeries is sensational with some of the best
in the world and indeed in South Africa. Long
lazy lunches last several hours, laughing and
conversing with friendly staff, who are genuine
with their time and warmth. And given the
currency, the bill is always a shock at a fraction
