startling designer furniture, art and one-off
pieces. Breakfast here is a treat with dazzling
views, as is the sunset clink of champagne
flutes at the rooftop Atlas Bar. All 8 luxury
rooms are individually-themed. Mine features
floor-to-ceiling glass views of crimson sunsets,
bleached beaches and the dolphin and whalerich Atlantic Ocean. Contemporary luxury
lovers will feel right at home. As it’s nestled
between café-clad Camps Bay, upmarket
Clifton and Table Mountain, Manna Bay is my
direct portal into the labyrinth of fun and play
that is Cape Town. As a first-timer, I appreciate
the concierge team, an open door and open
book of all that’s cool and eclectic in the city.
If you’re keen to make an entrance, arrive by
helicopter at the majestic Twelve Apostles, the
only hotel in Cape Town to boast a helipad,
and the go-to for celebrities such as Rihanna
and Shakira. On a breathtaking seafront, set
entirely in its own landscape, Twelve Apostles
defines elegance and grace. A grand and
large hotel, it is renowned for it’s restaurants,
spa and legendary suites. The excellence of
service ensures its leading position in the
luxury category. Breakfast is a lavish affair on
the sweeping terrace, overlooking a wild windswept bay, catching glimpse of somersaulting
dolphins and breeched whales, whilst gorging
on oysters and champagne before midday.
Dining here is serious business, culminating at
Azure Restaurant, the pinnacle of fine dining
