cultural magnet.
Bilbao used to be industrial capital of the
Basque Country, owing to its natural richness
in minerals. It is still a frenetic port. Now, with a
clutch of design-led themes, the hub of the city
has shifted focus. Beyond the Guggenheim lies
an authentic and amiable city of antiquity on
the banks of the Nervion River, lined by green
parks and outdoor spaces. The Old Quarter is a
noble walk through coats of arms, iron balustrades and grand estates.
