Best of
Europe 2015
By Anisha Shah
Europe is undeniably alluring and diverse. The charm lies in the
ever-increasing ease of travel, within the continent, to countries
packed with history and beauty.
Many are well-known and firmly on the trodden path and with
good reason whilst others remain surprisingly uncharted and
unknown. Spring-summer is a magical time to explore Europe.
From the wild prairies of Ireland to the exquisite art and architecture of Vatican State to the Adriatic glamour of Montenegro, a
European fling in spring awakens all the senses.
This year, sample the best of Europe by mingling firm favourites
with delightfully delicious clandestine locales. Weave through
the crown of Europe, exploring the eye-catching jewels of
Rome, Seville and Istanbul to precious mysterious gems Malta,
Montenegro and Liechtenstein. Here is Europe’s Top 15 for 2015:
1. Seville
Seville, in the Andalusia region of
Spain, conjures images of flamenco
dancers, bull-fighting and delectable tapas. The legend of the
flamenco dance enchants visitors,
drawing them to taverns and
nightspots around the colourful
cobblestone streets.
Alleyways are so narrow, single
cars can barely squeeze through,
causing pedestrians to jump into
doorways and breathe in. Skinny
pathways give way to café-lined
orange tree-clad plazas boasting
soaring cathedrals and ancient
palaces, the Alcazar, Calle Sierpes
and Plaza Nueva: the monumental
core. Modern art museums,
