ASK, AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU; SEEK, AND YE SHALL FIND; KNOCK, AND IT SHALL BE OPENED UNTO YOU: FOR EVERY ONE THAT ASKETH RECEIVETH; AND HE THAT SEEKETH FINDETH; AND TO HIM THAT KNOCKETH IT SHALL BE OPENED. OR WHAT MAN IS THERE OF YOU, WHOM IF HIS SON ASK BREAD, WILL HE GIVE HIM A STONE? OR IF HE ASK A FISH, WILL HE GIVE HIM A SERPENT? IF YE THEN, BEING EVIL, KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS UNTO YOUR CHILDREN, HOW MUCH MORE SHALL YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN GIVE GOOD THINGS TO THEM THAT ASK HIM? MATTHEW 7 : 7 - 11 L et us examine what we are supposed to ask, knock and find. Before unravelling the mystery in the word, we shall examine one aspect. Though we are bad in nature, we tell our children that they should not lie. An alcoholic tells his children not to consume alcohol and wishes that they receive good habits. This means that though we are bad in nature, we show much love and concern towards our children. Then with how much more blessings does our good heavenly Father wish to bless us with? We, who are reading this message are about to receive good blessings. But we are supposed to be grafted to Christ and His word.Especially it is very important that we be grafted to a Church. In the above verse it is written that we should ask, knock and find. But it is not clear regarding why we are supposed to do so and what the blessing is? LUKE 11 : 9 - 13 says, And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Here the word is preaching us a great thing and that is, God will give us the Holy Spirit himself if we only ask. The Father is ready to give His Children the Holy Spirit which is really a good blessing. Our God is ready to give us anything that we ask on the earth. This Holy Spirit will make us prosperous, healthy, powerful, good charactered and the best people in all the areas of our life. This is the reason why David says, “ Lord, you may take away anything from me, but do not take away the Holy Spirit from me.” NOW, LET US SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SAUL AND DAVID. Saul has a great desire to be the King. So when he was about to lose his kingdom, he does not even hesitate to kill God’s prophet. But when David loses his kingdom, he only pleads with God that he may take away his kingdom but not the Holy Spirit from him. David knows a secret that if only he had the Holy Spirit in him, then whatever he might lose, he would get double fold in a second. Even Job received in the same manner. Because David knows this secret, God calls David , “A man after His own heart.” This is the divine secret! It is impossible to know God without this Holy Spirit. The Acts November 2013 19
