The devil is the cause for the curse. He always wants to fight the blessing. Why does he fight the blessing? How does he fight the blessing? And to what extent will the devil go? Let us examine all these. Genesis 12: 1-3 says, Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee : … on the basis that the blessing should be passed on for some generations. Adam’s blessing finished with him. But Abraham’s blessing passed on to Isaac and Jacob. God is not interested in just a blessing. But he is interested in passing the blessing for generations. Genesis 18: 19 says, For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Why did God choose Abraham? God chose Abraham because he not only wanted to bless only one person and leave him, but he also wanted generations to be blessed from that one person. God wanted the blessing to be passed onto generations. Satan does the opposite. He wants t h e God wants to preserve his blessing. So for this reason, he chose Abraham so that the blessing will be passed onto generations after him. Here we see that the Lord from the beginning brought forth a faithful, blessed generation. He has been preserving a blessed generation for a purpose. He wanted to bring out a precious seed from that blessed generation. God planned that even before the foundations of the world were laid, a lamb would be slain. And this precious seed would come from the blessed generation. What is a blessing? A blessing will overtake and override a curse. The blessing has the power to overtake the poverty, disease, death, short life span etc. Why did God choose David? God chose David because he made a covenant with him. God said that one seed from David’s generations will definitely be seated on the throne. The blessing of Abraham was for 3 generations only. Whereas, the blessing of David has been passed on for generations and for ever. God chose people who could pass on the blessing. Saul could not pass on his blessing to
