The devil is the cause for the curse. He
always wants to fight the blessing. Why
does he fight the blessing? How does he
fight the blessing? And to what extent
will the devil go? Let us examine all these.
Genesis 12: 1-3 says,
Now the LORD had said unto Abram,
Get thee out of thy country, and from thy
kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto
a land that I will show thee: And I will
make of thee a great nation, and I will bless
thee, and make thy name great; and thou
shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them
that bless thee, and curse him that curseth
thee : …
on the basis that the blessing should be
passed on for some generations. Adam’s
blessing finished with him. But Abraham’s blessing passed on to Isaac and Jacob. God is not interested in just a blessing. But he is interested in passing the
blessing for generations.
Genesis 18: 19 says,
For I know him, that he will command his
children and his household after him, and
they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do
justice and judgment; that the Lord may
bring upon Abraham that which he hath
spoken of him.
Why did God choose Abraham? God
chose Abraham because he not only
wanted to bless only one person and leave
him, but he also wanted generations to
be blessed from that one person. God
wanted the blessing to be passed onto
generations. Satan does the opposite. He

God wants to preserve his blessing. So
for this reason, he chose Abraham so that
the blessing will be passed onto generations after him.
Here we see that the Lord from the beginning brought forth a faithful,
blessed generation. He has been
preserving a blessed generation
for a purpose. He wanted to
bring out a precious seed
from that blessed generation. God planned that
even before the foundations of the world were
laid, a lamb would be
slain. And this precious
seed would come from
the blessed generation.
What is a blessing? A blessing will overtake and override a curse. The blessing
has the power to overtake the poverty,
disease, death, short life span etc.
Why did God choose David? God
chose David because he made a
covenant with him. God said
that one seed from David’s
generations will definitely
be seated on the throne.
The blessing of Abraham
was for 3 generations
only. Whereas, the blessing of David has been
passed on for generations
and for ever. God chose
people who could pass on
the blessing. Saul could
not pass on his blessing to
