Oof God. He believed the wordswith God. the time he ne man built a relationship He trusted the words and from was called, throughout his life, his every action was based on God’s word. God made with him a very great covenant. If a person believes God, then God will bless him and build a relationship with him for eternity. God will bless his generations so that the people will notice the blessing. Genesis 12 : 1 - 2 Says, Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: When God called Abraham, He asked Abraham to leave his country, father’s house and come away. “ I will bless you” said the Lord. God also blessed Abraham to be a blessing to others. God’s call is a call for blessing. If God has called somebody, then he will bless him. What is the proof that God has called somebody? “It is the blessing”! When God called Abraham, He gave a permanent blessing. Genesis 12 : 3 Says, And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. PAGE 04 THE ACTS AUGUST 2013 God told Abraham that He would bless them that bless him and curse him that curse Abraham. As we go further to the next chapters, we see an advancement in the blessing. God blessed Adam in the beginning, but he was not blessed with promise, “I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee”. Adam was not given a protection for his blessing. That is the reason, Cain killed Abel. Though Abel was righteous, Cain killed him. Abel was blessed but his blessing did not protect him. But when God blessed Abraham, he also protected the blessing. God protected him from many people who wanted to harm him. Abraham’s wife Sarah, was taken away by many Kings but God protected them. As we progress from the Old Testament into the New Testament, the blessing has been modi?ed. God made the blessing complete. So, God blessed Abraham who built a relationship with God. God blessed him in a glorious way. “Blessing is an identi?cation.” A blessing will never remain unidenti?ed. The blessing will be to such an extent that people will take note of it.We should have a serious relationship with God. As a woman is committed to a man in a marriage. So, even we should have a committment with God. Abraham had a serious relationship with God. We should not seek God only when we are sick or in a di?culty. We should always maintain a committed relationship with God. The relationship between God and Abraham was successful because there was a commitment on both the sides. Simply attending the church on Sunday’s and participating in the Holy Communion are not considered as maintaining a relationship with God.There should be a serious
