ISSUE 01 | SUMMER 2013
WELCOME
A note from the editor
By SI A. Malarky
Welcome to the first issue of the revamped
Lothian & Borders ACF Newsletter. Thank you to
everyone who took the time to write to me
following the announcement of the Newsletter.
The feedback has been fantastic and has come
from cadets and parents, ACF adults and officers
in L&B, other cadet forces, senior army officers
and we have even had comments from as far
away as Australia as our list of Twitter followers
increases and more people get to find out just
what it is that we do. It’s a bumper edition for our
first issue, with so much going on across the
Battalion in the first part of the year - and so
much still to look forward to with annual camp
already looming on the horizon.
I will be aiming to attend as many events as
possible, but if I cant be there - just send me a
short write up and some photographs which can
provide the basis of a story that others would be
interested in. Whether it is at Detachment level or
something you have done with the Battalion, let
me know!
Our distribution list extends far and wide and is
emailed to military units, police, schools, local
councillors and MP’s around our area. If you
know of someone who would like to receive a
copy then please let me have their email address
and I will ensure they are included on the
distribution list.
If you are wondering why your event or activity
was not included - it’s probably because I didn’t
know about it! The next newsletter will be
published in November so to ensure you don’t
miss out, get your stories to me by the end of
October 2013.
You can contact me via your Detachment
Commander or directly by email to
[email protected] and don’t forget to
check out our Twitter and Facebook pages for
more information and updates as the news is
happening!
