CONFLICT OF INTEREST RESTRICTIONS
Effective Immediately
• Prohibits administrators, including any person who has significant administrative duties relating to the operation of a school district, including the operation of a campus, program, or other subdivision of a district, from receiving any financial benefit for the performance of personal services for o Any business entity that does business with the school district that employs the administrator o An education business that provides services regarding curriculum or administration of any district o Another school district, charter school, or ESC except that administrators, other than a superintendent and assistant superintendent, can receive financial benefit from an education business or another district, charter or ESC if the board of trustees votes to approve the contract after determining that the contract will not harm the district, it does not present a conflict of interest, and the services performed will be done entirely on personal time
• Creates a civil penalty of $ 10,000 per violation for administrators
