LOT of hard lessons about making room for other
things. Sometimes that space can make you feel like
you are being lazy or unproductive but actually some
of my better ideas come from being focused on
something else. I'm so lucky to have such a kickass
management team in Greg (Lonsdale) and Heather
(Taylor), they help me keep the balance for sure!
What have you learned about yourself in the last 12
months?
To trust other people more. I am a social guy, I think,
but I actually don't share a lot of what is going on right
now with many people. Even in music my songs have
been very reflective, often writing about things that I
am well past. I'm trying to be more in the moment
with my writing and also more trusting of the great
people around me I am working with. Collaborating
with Dave Tidmarsh and Mark Elliott on this new
music is a prime example: they have pushed me well
out of my safe zone and brought out subjects and
vocals I couldn't have delivered alone.
incredible gesture. I take my "Footprints" card to
every show and everywhere I go. It reminds me of the
woman who put me on my first stage and the
importance of a good-hearted act.
How do you balance your music with other
obligations?
If I'm being honest I'm not great at it. Music
dominates a lot of my life and I have had to learn a

Tell us about your up coming projects and what you
have planned for 2017?
MORE MUSIC! 'Belief' is the first in a series of singles I
am planning to release and I can't wait for people to
hear them. I am touring all summer and hoping to
book even more dates as time goes on; it's gearing up
to be a very exciting year and I can't wait to see what
people make of my new music! - AS
